Court House-Sept-2013-07A registrar’s remand has been granted to a Christchurch man charged with burglary over an alleged vandalism incident at a container restaurant in Bealey Avenue.

Alexander Bernard Giblin, a 20-year-old food industry worker, was remanded at the Christchurch District Court today without needing to appear in court.

He remains on bail and his next hearing is scheduled for December 1.

Giblin was arrested early this month after the owner of the Thai Container restaurant posted security camera footage on-line, and then handed details and video to the police.

The restaurant says two security cameras and gas piping were damaged, and there was a flood inside the restaurant from towels placed in the sink with the taps turned on. The damage totalled about $2000.
