Police-badge-2013-09-001Police have praised a teenager who called emergency services about a suspected prowler, which led to a man being arrested on charges of burglary and peeping and peering.

They are also asking for anyone who has seen any suspicious behaviour in the northern part of the Redwood suburb in the last month to contact the police.

After receiving the call from the teenager about 10pm on Saturday, the police made a short search and found an injured man at a nearby property.

The man they allegedly found appeared before Judge Tony Couch in the Christchurch District Court today charged with burglary, and being found peeping into a house without reasonable excuse.

The charges allege offending close to his own address.

James Fredrick Clark, 24, a factory worker, was remanded in custody without plea to March 9. Defence counsel Claire Yardley made no application for bail but said an application for Clark’s release on electronically monitored bail may be made later.
