Blackmail, rape charges denied
A Waikuku man is denying rape and blackmail charges and his case has been sent to a case review hearing in the Christchurch District Court in May.
The 20-year-old man, Karl Sheridan Salmon, was remanded in custody by Judge Tony Couch to a case review on May 4, which is the next step in the trial process.
Salmon faces charges dating from last year and early this year of threatening to kill a girl, two of sexual violation by rape, sexual violation by unlawful sexual connection, and blackmail.
The police allege the offending involved a girl aged 12 to 16 years.
