Assault trial re-start ordered

Court House-general 3A trial alleging assaults by a 60-year-old woman on two boys and an elderly man was aborted towards the end of its first day in the Christchurch District Court.

The trial on 29 charges of assaults and assaults with a weapon will begin again with a new jury before Judge Alistair Garland on Tuesday.

It is expected to take about two weeks.

The reason for the trial re-start cannot be reported.
