Massage indecency trial jury retires overnight
After deliberating all afternoon, the jury in the trial of a Chinese massager charged with 17 indecent assaults was sent home overnight at 5pm.The Christchurch District Court jury will return to its deliberations from 9.30am on Tuesday, which will be the sixth day of the trial before Judge Stephen O’Driscoll.
Cunbin Zhang, 60, is charged with indecent assaults during Chinese full-body oil massage sessions at two Christchurch shopping malls in November and December 2012.
Four women made complaints to the police and have given evidence at the trial where Zhang denies all charges.
Judge O’Driscoll delivered his summing up on Monday morning, and the jury then re-viewed a police interview with Zhang, recorded on DVD.
