Elderly man injured in New Brighton assault
A cordon was set up around part of the New Brighton Mall area where a 72-year-old man was assaulted overnight.
The man was in Christchurch Hospital serious injuries today, but Senior Sergeant Roy Appley of the Christchurch police said the injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
“Police would like to hear from anyone who may have any information about this incident,” he said.
