Arrest warrant on dog ill-treatment charge
An arrest warrant has been issued for a man charged with ill-treating two dogs by kicking and punching them.
The warrant was issued in the Christchurch District Court yesterday by Judge Garry Barkle when John Noel Taukiri, 44, failed to appear at court as required.
Taukiri, of Aranui, was granted a registrar’s remand on bail at his first court appearance on September 11 and would have been expected to enter a plea to the charge at court yesterday.
