Assault charge over casino incident
A Linwood man has denied a charge of assaulting a woman outside the Christchurch Casino in an incident early on New Year’s Day.
Ryan Stephen Lynch, 28, faces a charge under the Crimes Act, that being a male, he assaulted a woman, Michelle Coker, 47, who received bruising to the face.
Lynch was granted a registrar’s remand, which meant he did not need to appear in court before a judge at the Christchurch District Court today.
He pleaded not guilty and was remanded on bail to a case review hearing on March 21.
