35 more charges laid against Burnham 21-year-old
Another 35 charges have been laid against a 21-year-old who was already in custody for six charges of burglary, unlawfully interfering with cars, and stealing cash, in the Selwyn and North Canterbury areas.
Burnham man Luke Alexander Reich was remanded in custody without plea to March 24 where he will appear by an video-link from the Christchurch Men’s prison.
He faces 21 new charges of burglary, four of interfering with cars, and 10 of stealing property including cash, a horse racing vest, a pilot’s blazer, and a rifle. The charges allege the offending began in November and ended in February when Reich was arrested.
Police withdrew one of the original charges of stealing $150 cash, leaving 40 active charges.
