Woman needed a lift
A 22-year-old Templeton woman didn’t believe in half measures when she apparently needed a ride.
The police charged her with giving a fictitious message over a phone, seeking assistance from the Westpac Rescue chopper.
She has admitted the offence and has been remanded at the Christchurch District Court to May for the police to consider diversion – the scheme that allows first offenders on lesser charges to avoid a conviction by making amends.
