Sex offences spanning 49 years are alleged against a Christchurch pensioner.
The 65-year-old man was granted name suppression by Judge Tom Gilbert at an appearance in the Christchurch District Court today on 13 charges.
Bail was not opposed by the police and the man was remanded to June 22, when pleas will have to be entered.
He will have to surrender his passport, and he is not allowed contact the two alleged victims. He is also forbidden to be in the company of anyone aged under 16 unless in the company of another adult.
The man is alleged to have committed offences in Christchurch, Dunedin, and the West Coast from 1964 to 2013.
The charges refer to two male victims, and give the age of one of them as under 16. Alleged offending includes doing indecent acts after offering money or alcohol, sexual connection by oral and anal sex, anal digital penetration, and masturbation.
