The man who triggered an armed police raid in Rangiora has been remanded in custody after appearing in the Christchurch District Court Tuesday.
Michael Scott Holdem, 38, was arrested after a domestic incident about midday on July 4.
He has been charged with threatening to do grievous bodily harm to a woman, assaulting the same woman, carrying a .22 calibre rifle, burgling a house at Main North Road, Woodend, being in unlawful possession of an explosive – Power Gel – a shotgun, and three .22 calibre rifles.
Duty lawyer Colin Eason said Holdem was not applying for bail at his first appearance, and had applied for legal aid.
