Remand on bar armed robbery charges

Remand in custody for Jackson Whakatihi, also known as Manson, aged 24, charged with the armed robbery of two Christchurch bars on January 26, 2014. Two masked men robbed the Coasters bar in Redwood, and then allegedly assaulted a patron while attempting to rob The Brewery bar at The Tannery shopping centre in Woolston. Whakatihi, who is listed as being of no fixed abode in central Christchurch, has admitted robbing the Coasters bar, but denies being involved with the incident later that night at The Brewery bar.
