High Court jury trials are usually scheduled for the two jury courts on level four of the Court House. District Court jury trials are held in the courts on level two.

Sentencing for high-value shoplifting

July 10

2.15pm sentencing for 32-year-old Mark Andrew McGowan for a series of high-value thefts from shops — much of it groceries and meat — amounting to thousands of dollars. McGowan pleaded guilty to seven shoplifting charges on June 18. His address was listed as “no fixed abode”. He has already been recalled to prison to serve more of a sentence for which he was on parole at the time of the thefts.
