A man facing charges for his alleged role in two related police pursuits was arrested again after failing to show at the Christchurch District Court on Tuesday when a warrant was issued.
Brandon Alan Niven, 20, was granted bail by a registrar at the Court House yesterday and is due to appear again on September 14.
He has now been charged with unlawfully interfering with a vehicle in Christchurch on Sunday. He was already on bail on charges of unlawfully taking a $2500 car last month, driving while forbidden, failing to stop for the police while driving dangerously and reckless driving on Hills Road.
Police alleged he was the driver of one car involved in two related police pursuits on the morning of August 24, during which three cars were damaged. One of the damaged vehicles was a patrol car allegedly rammed by Niven as he sped off.
