Court appearance after arrest warrant issued
A man said to be a senior Head Hunters gang figure made a brief appearance in the Christchurch District Court today, after an arrest warrant was issued for him yesterday.
Duty solicitor Ruth Buddicom told the court Lyndon Vaughan Richardson did not appear yesterday as he had mixed up his court dates.
Judge John Strettell remanded the 43-year-old on bail to August 18, so that his lawyer could be present when he entered pleas to one charge of receiving stolen travel vouchers.
Richardson was arrested after a police raid in Sockburn on July 21 at the gang’s Christchurch headquarters.
